The San Diego A Plus Tree crews volunteered to support an incredibly worthy cause. A Plus Tree partnered with Rebuilding Together’s San Diego branch to help rebuild the home and life of Laura McGinnis.

THEREBUILDING TOGETHER: SAN DIEGO

Rebuilding Together serves needy families and aims to eradicate poverty housing.

“We improve lives by building wheelchair ramps, widening doors, ADA modifications, weatherization, and many more home repairs for the disabled, elderly, ill, veterans and homeowners in a crisis who are not able to keep up with maintaining a safe environment.”

HELPING THOSE IN NEED

Together, Rebuilding Together and A Plus Tree partnered to help Laura McGinnis. Laura’s father served in the navy with honors and provided a wonderful home for his family. Although both parents have passed, Laura is back in this home now, alone and very sick. While receiving chemo treatments her shower leaked and flooded the house leaving repairs that she cannot keep up with. As a horse trainer for many years, Laura lived in north county, and even though she can’t work now, still volunteers at the stables. Her face has become very scarred due to surgeries (not cosmetic) which makes it difficult to socialize and is isolating.

The requested scope of work includes, landscape, tree removal, plumbing, drywall, wall furnace, painting, flooring.

A Plus Tree took care of the landscape and tree removals for Laura. It was an honor to help Laura in her time of need.
