The Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) is the intersection of wild and urban areas. Growing cities and populations have increased the number of communities in WUI’s. Communities in WUI’s are most at risk for wildfires. Due to their location, there is often an abundance of wild vegetation and fuels that contribute to wildfires.
