How to Plan and Maximize an Arborist’s Recycling

How does an arborist stay environmentally sound and socially responsible when it comes to cutting down and recycling trees? We’re glad you asked. For the arborist, it’s all about having total control and knowledge of resources, managing them properly, and being able to plan ahead. Thankfully our tree tracking app, ArborPLUS, makes this easy. The app allows the arborist to seamlessly record thousands of trees, including specific information about their health. With ArborPLUS, the arborist can strategize recycling efforts before making last minute decisions or rushing to find a home for his lumber. ArborPLUS sees the value in all trees, whether...

Why the Arborist Needs to See the Forest from the Trees

Foresters have specific goals in mind when it comes to the maintenance of their land... They look to habitat, global preservation, harvesting, replanting, health, and safety, all while keeping in mind that the forest is a whole unit. Not just a group of individual trees. Now, because we believe that the arborist is essentially an urban forester above all else, we developed something that allows the arborist to accomplish these same goals in the urban forest and maintain the ability to see the forest from the trees. A tree management tool built for the arborist, by the arborist: ArborPlus. As more and more...

Not Every Cloud is Created Equal

Our tree tracking app, ArborPLUS, allows you to ‘grow your forest in the cloud’... Which sounds cool, right? But what exactly is this ‘cloud’ everyone keeps referring to? You understand its some sort of place where things get stored, but you’re not sure how and why. Well friends, here’s everything you need to know. What the cloud is… The cloud essentially refers to a network of information that’s stored remotely. All the ‘stuff’ or info that you keep in the cloud can be accessed from multiple devices and in real time. What it’s not… A program that somehow makes inferior...

Goal Alignment: The Key to Success Lies in Your Hands

No matter how you slice it, goal alignment is essential to a company’s success. A company without properly united objectives is like a bus without a driver. Probably going nowhere. But alignment isn’t just about quantifying real, tangible goals in terms of sales and dollar amounts. That’s just step 1. Successful companies know that the true test lies in how you bring those numbers to fruition. How you go from point A to point B. Objectives to action. Because a company’s ability to align goals is only as strong as its ability to communicate those goals quickly and effectively. That’s...

What do Sharks, Grizzlies and Trees have in Common?

So being a fan of shark week and any other show that has to do with super beasts of the sea I was instantly interested when I read the caption, “Massive Sea Creature Attacks” in last weeks I F*$%ing Love Science blog.  Come to find out the way they figured this “Massive Sea Creature” exists is because one of their 10 foot long White Sharks tag floated to shore and reported data of being suddenly dragged deep while remaining the same temperature for the next 8 days… aka something bigger than it ate it!  After reading further I realized the...

ArborPLUS 3.0 – Still King of the Urban Forest

In 2010 we were the first to deliver a comprehensive GIS-based Tree Management solution, ushering in a new era of tree care for multifamily housing. Now in 2014, while other companies have been struggling to catch up, we bring you ArborPlus 3.0 - propelling us even further ahead of the competition. While basic GIS tree inventorying was nothing new, we were the first in our industry to do 4 things : 1) Layered the tree locations with a photo of every tree, basic tree info, and a multi-year maintenance plan. 2) No proprietary software or downloading - everything ran securely...

An Inventory-Stroll Through the Park

This week we did a full GIS tree inventory and hazard survey with our ArborPlus app at Refugio Valley Park for the City of Hercules. Since it was such a pleasant park, we decided to film a short video while we were there in attempt to capture its beauty. We even caught a saxophonist practicing his talent on the top of a grassy knoll. At the end of the day, we met some more friendly Hercules residents who offered us BBQ chicken. Hope you enjoy the short video :)
